If your DVD player is NOT compatible with DVD+R media, please let us know.  If you do not see your DVD player listed or still are not sure please contact us for further assistance.

The following information has been provided by www.videoHelp.com. The DVD-R was the first DVD recording format released and is compatible with about 93% of the standalone DVD players and most DVD-ROMs. DVD+R is compatible with about 89% of all DVD Players and most DVD-ROMs.

We can record on either format. If your completed DVD will not play in your player, we will redo your project for free within thirty days of receipt of your project.

Q. Can I preview my DVD with a dial-up connection?

A. Due to the high volume of bandwidth required for streaming video, web previews are not possible over most dial-up connections. A cable, DSL, wireless or satellite Internet connection is recommended for all web previews.

Q. Where do we get the background music?

A.
All of our music is purchased and used legally. Our DVD slideshows are not intended for public presentation; they are produced for private use only. You can send us a CD containing the music you want on the slideshow, or we will be happy to supply the music for you from our extensive library or if you don’t have it we will purchase your music for you through a store or a legitimate online provider, at no charge to you.

If you have concerns about the legality of using copyrighted music please read the information below:

Music and copyright laws state that it is legal to use your purchased music, or music we purchase on your behalf, in creation of your customized DVD photo slideshows under the “fair use provision” You may review these laws at http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html

When the music is legally-purchased it falls into the same category as copyrighted music. When it is used for such events as weddings, funerals and other private events for which no admission or fee is charged for listening to the music it is legal, and may be used in the creation of your video. No royalty fees are  applicable and the music may be used. Take2Video Productions does not use illegal music.  We purchase music from a store or a legitimate internet music site such as iTunes or similar. If  you choose to send us your own music, it must also have been legally purchased.

The use of your CDs (or music our company purchases for you online),

therefore falls under the “Fair Use Provision” of the music copyright laws which contains these criteria:

1.      the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;

2.      the nature of the copyrighted work;

3.      amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and

4. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

                           Other Questions

Photo/slide or negative scanning.

Q. What DPI should I choose on negatives and photos?

300 DPI for photos is generally sufficient for archival purposes and for general use. For specific printing purposes (such as enlargements), people often choose 600 DPI. It is a popular practice to always scan at 600 DPI on "smaller-than-standard" photos.

2000 DPI for 35mm film provides a digital resolution of about 2800 x 1900 pixels. This is equivalent to a 5 megapixel digital camera shot. With digital standards being raised almost continually, we recommend scanning 35mm film at 3000 DPI to ensure lasting quality and future practicality. A 3000 DPI scan provides a digital resolution of about 4200 x 2800; this is equivalent to an 11 or 12 megapixel digital camera shot. We also provide scanning at 4000 DPI.

For medium format film measuring 2 1/4 inches in one dimension, we suggest that 2000 DPI is sufficient. This ensures digital quality of about 10 megapixels.

For smaller negatives such as 110 (13mm x 17mm) or 126 (26.5 mm squared), we recommend using a DPI of 4000 due to relatively small frame sizes.

Q: Does my first CD or DVD come included with my order? What if my order takes multiple discs?

Yes, all of our pricing is structured to provide the first copy, no matter how many discs it takes, for free. Please note that a CD is default for small orders where 1 CD is sufficient. A small fee can be applied to upgrade your CD to a DVD for these smaller orders (see our pricing page). Any large orders (where files exceed 700 MB) will automatically be provided on a DVD, or multiple DVDs such as your order would require.

Q:How should I ship my items?

Many customers believe that the speed of delivery helps to ensure the safety of their items.  Whether this is true or not we cannot confirm.  As such, many customers use overnight or 2-Day services through FedEx.

 While some swear by overnight shipments, others are just as comfortable with Ground service, which does take longer.  The bottom line is that there is no right shipping method to send your things.  Choose what you're most comfortable with, or what you've had good experience with.
